I came across a cool site today, where you can just have fun playing with your photos. I also tried a few of them and I must say, I was quite happy with the output. Well the site is dumpr.net. Here you get the option of turning your photos into a jigsaw puzzle, pencil sketch,customized rubik's cube,turn your photos old, see your photos in musuem around the world. Out of all the options, my favorites are photos in musuem and pencil sketch. Have a look at some of the photos I tried with my son Urjit's photographs and art work.

All of us should always try to capture the sweet memories of the time we spend with our kids. Time flies and suddenly you will realize that they are no more babies.. they are all grown ups , busy in their own lives. So it is good to capture the memories in form of photos and videos. We should also learn to organize them properly. Most of you will agree to me.. when it comes to taking snaps and recording videos, we all do it so nicely but when it comes to organizing them, we feel, we can do much BETTER.

Traveling With The Kids

Travel can be stressful, but traveling with kids can be even worse. Jessica Hartshorn, Sr. Lifestyles Ed. of American Baby Magazine has some tips for making your summer vacation hassle free.

First, don't be in a hurry to get to your destination. Long car rides are rough on adults, and even worse on kids. Take frequent breaks along the way. "I would say stop every couple hours - every two hours," says Hartshorn. "Really let them run around a little bit." Your kids will burn off some energy and tolerate the car ride better.

Another stress reliever on a long car ride? Get a portable DVD player - two if you have more than one child. "They've come down in price," says Harshorn. "They're fairly affordable now." Chances are, if you play one of your child's favorite movies, they'll sit quietly instead of asking the dreaded question, "Are we there yet?" every five minutes. To save your ears, invest in some headphones for the kids as well.

Some children fall asleep instantly when they're in the car, but a little encouragement never hurts. Try to travel during your kids nap times or at night when you know they'll be tired. Just be sure that the driver has gotten their sleep too. Or, try switching drivers when the other person gets tired.

Driving with children isn't the only summer travel hassle a parent might face; flying can be another stressful form of transportation. Hartshorn suggests serving your kids plenty of snacks on the plane to keep them occupied. "I let them run around like crazy maniacs in the airport and then I buy a lot of [snacks]... and feed them one [thing] at a time."

Don't forget to play with your kids either. Small toys or books can keep a child occupied during a long flight and keep them from kicking the seat in front of them. Also, request a seat near the restroom. You won't have to walk far or risk your child running down the aisle if they have to use the bathroom while in flight.

But while your child may fall fast asleep in a car, don't count on naps during a plane ride. Everything from jet engine noises to the captain speaking over the loudspeaker can keep kids awake during a flight. Try to entertain them instead. If they fall asleep, consider it an added bonus.

If you'll be staying at a hotel during your trip, spend the extra money and get a hotel with a pool. "There's something about the chlorine and the activity that will help them sleep better," says Hartshorn. It also beats watching TV all afternoon. Not every hotel carries children's channels, so the pool is a great way to enjoy some fun in the sun.

Also, check beforehand what amenities the hotel has. "A lot of hotels these days have cribs... Some even have Fisher Price toys and swings and bouncer seats," says Hartshorn. Your hotel may even offer a babysitting service or have a play area just for the little ones.

Families can also have a more positive experience at a hotel if they're courteous to the staff. Befriend the bellman and he may help you load the kids into the car before your next vacation excursion.

A few days back, I came across this great site called graphita.com. It is a site, where you can have fun with your photos.It is application designed to be easy for anyone to get creative.You can add multiple doodles,captions and objects on a single image.They have an extensive collection of fun library for doodles,objects and captions which you can easily manipulate.

It is extremely easy to use with it's point and click feature.It is designed to foster creative and social expression. So for all those mommies, who wanted to have fun with the photos of their babies, here is a great site worth checking out. They are still in beta phase so you might get errors. I found quite a few bugs in IE, though it worked well in Firefox.

To assist with the transition to parenthood, Babies "R" Us offers a complimentary Smart Beginnings special event series which gives new and expectant parents valuable information to help keep a baby safe, healthy and even stylish.

The baby name business

Sociologists and name researchers say they are seeing unprecedented levels of angst among parents trying to choose names for their children. As family names and old religious standbys continue to lose favor, parents are spending more time and money on the issue and are increasingly turning to strangers for help.

Some parents are checking Social Security data to make sure their choices aren't too trendy, while others are fussing over every consonant like corporate branding experts. They're also pulling ideas from books, Web sites and software programs, and in some cases, hiring professional baby-name consultants who use mathematical formulas.

Denise McCombie, 37, a California mother of two who's expecting a daughter this fall, spent $475 to have a numerologist test her favorite name, Leah Marie, to see if it had positive associations. (It did.) This March, one nervous mom-to-be from Illinois listed her 16 favorite names on a tournament bracket and asked friends, family and people she met at baby showers to fill it out. The winner: Anna Irene.

Sean and Dawn Mistretta from Charlotte, N.C., tossed around possibilities for five months before they hired a pair of consultants -- baby-name book authors who draw up lists of suggestions for $50. During a 30-minute conference call with Mrs. Mistretta, 34, a lawyer, and Mr. Mistretta, 35, a securities trader, the consultants discussed names based on their phonetic elements, popularity, and ethnic and linguistic origins -- then sent a 15-page list of possibilities. When their daughter was born in April, the Mistrettas settled on one of the consultants' suggestions -- Ava -- but only after taking one final straw poll of doctors and nurses at the hospital. While her family complimented the choice, Mrs. Mistretta says, "they think we're a little neurotic."

Karen Markovics, 36, who works for the planning department in Orange County, N.C., spent months reading baby books and scouring Web sites before settling on Nicole Josephine. But now, four years later, Mrs. Markovics says she wishes she'd chosen something less trendy -- and has even considered legally changing her daughter's name to Josephine Marie. "I'm having namer's remorse," she says.

Bringing up BabyTech

What happens when gadget-crazy, Internet-obsessed, financially secure adults have babies? A new market is born.

U.S. parents spent $2.9 billion in 2006 on baby goods, and $337 million of that was directed at gadgets like monitors, thermometers and the like. Now a smaller, but growing, industry is leveraging the same technologies people rely upon for business and pleasure--such as Web video conferencing, wireless frequencies and digital media players--to aid in the displaying, entertaining and rearing of offspring.

Most people with an e-mail address have received at least one message containing an attached photo of a splotchy, hours-old newborn. But for some parents, that type of digital birth announcement isn't nearly enough to do their child justice. Next come the slide shows, videos, Web sites and blogs devoted to babydom.

''New parents are the biggest inflection point, except for the teen market, when it comes to entering the blogosphere,'' says Tina Sharkey, chief executive of Babycenter.com. ''These people finally have a story to tell for the first time, news to share that keeps changing. It's a perfect platform for photos, videos and sounds.''

To record those precious memories, parents are investing by the droves in digital cameras and high-definition digital camcorders that cost more than $1,000. But for parents who want easy access to the Web, a tiny, durable and cheap camcorder like Pure Digital's Flip camcorder might serve the purpose--it includes software that automatically publishes video to sites like Google's YouTube. ''Some people like to keep controlled access to their baby, but we live in a culture where parents think they have bragging rights,'' says Sharkey.

There's no better audience for baby bragging than friends and family. That's why many moms and dads are setting family members up with Web cam-enabled computers or stand-alone video phone systems; this way, the interactive Baby Show can be broadcast on demand.

One popular way to accomplish this is with Apple's MacBook laptops, which houses a built-in camera called iSight and operates with the company's iChat software. However, both parties in the video conference need to own a Mac for this to work. Rather than investing in a new computer, products like Motorola's Ojo video phone accomplish the same task without a computer.

Beyond using technology as a baby syndication tool, parents want to familiarize their tots with technology beginning in the crib. Technology can be soothing--parents are creating iTunes playlists for their iPods filled with upbeat or sleep-inducing music. They place the gadgets right into the cradle or playpen with a baby speaker system for mp3 players, such as Munchkin's iCrib device. Some toy mp3 players could become teething devices, such as the pink plastic teddy bear-shaped player from Baby Bidou.

Parents who want to give their infants a very early start in computers can purchase a special keyboard for pudgy fingers, such as the Comfy EasyPC, and software designed specifically for babies younger than 2 years. Parents who compose e-mails with their babies in their arms know how eager even 6-month-olds are to touch the keyboard. This special software genre known as lapware teaches babies that patterns onscreen change when the keyboard or mouse is touched.

But none of these baby-oriented uses of technology are must-haves. The most crucial type of baby tech is the kind that keeps kids safe and parents reassured. The No. 1 baby gadget all over the world is likely the baby monitor. More than 87% of parents surveyed by Mintel International reported owning one. Sales in the baby wellness and safety product category, of which monitors, baby thermometers and other health devices are a part, increased 8% between 2004 and 2006, according to the Mintel study.

Most baby monitors sold today are wireless. Some feature special digital bandwidth technology to filter out interference from other nearby baby monitors or household appliances, but only a few are video-enabled. Many parents invest in a video baby monitor to keep an eye on sleeping babies in a room across the house, but some use video monitors or Web cams to observe nannies and babysitters at work.

There are some surprises, though: One popular video monitor model, Summer Infant's handheld monitor, recently showed an Illinois mother an unexpected video feed. On June 10, her baby monitor began displaying video from inside the NASA space shuttle Atlantis. Her baby was still safe it its crib, but the monitor was picking up a wireless video signal being broadcast from a Web site.

A New Dad of a Newborn

Marty Vysek, 27, works in real estate; he's also the brand-new dad of a three-week-old little boy named Aiden Oliver.

Aiden was born May 18; proud mom Christina is on maternity leave from her job as a sales executive.

On the Big Day

We waited about six hours before we went to the hospital. I drove normal. Her water hadn't broken yet. I would imagine that when the water breaks, it's a little more dramatic and people haul ass a little more. I would say I was pretty calm and cool about it. . . .

Christina was in labour for about 22 hours. She went the first 12 hours without drugs and that was enough. We had an epidural. Whoever says to try to do it without drugs, they're on drugs. It was a lot better after that.

I saw the baby come out. It was kind of an accident. It's like a car wreck. When you drive by, you have to look. . . .

I have to say, I really admired my wife at that point. I have some newfound respect for her after watching that.

He's the cutest baby ever -- a full head of black hair, blue eyes, nice complexion -- but he's quite little. He's like a little doll who burps and pees and poops. . . . On Coming Up With a Name

His name's Aiden Oliver. That's my middle name, Oliver. Aiden, I think we first heard that name, he was that guy who was dating Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex and the City.

Actually (before he was born), we first named him Riley but my brother called and said, 'How's little Riley doing?' And I thought, 'Oh my God, I can't call him that.' . . . That kind of tainted the whole Riley experience.

Plus I knew this guy in high school that was kind of an idiot, and I thought, I can't name my kid after that guy.

His Advice for Other New Dads

It's very important to lay down some ground rules (for grandparents and other caregivers). I just basically said, 'You know, give Christina a break. This is new to us.'

You get these people who are pros, they've raised two or three kids, but we've got to figure stuff out by ourselves.

It's a little overwhelming. You feel like you're under a microscope the whole time. You've got this brand-new baby, and you don't want to make a mistake.

On Documenting the First Few Weeks

We went nuts with the photos. We've taken more photos of him than we did of our wedding. We put pictures of him on Facebook so people from school can find out I'm all grown up and have a family and stuff.

On Getting Sleep. or Not

I'm tired all the time. My wife is tired all the time. I look like I have two black eyes all the time. So does Christina.

On the Perfect Father's Day for a Brand-New Dad

I would love to get a full day's sleep. A full night's sleep. Sleep. I'd just sleep through Father's Day . . . and I'd have Aiden sleep on my chest while I do it. That's the coolest thing, to have him do that. It's just so comforting. He's just a little ball of warmth. His heartbeat's so fast.

On Baby Tears

When he's crying, I want to hammer my head into the wall sometimes. He doesn't make a newborn cry. He has that full bottom-lip quiver. When he does that, you just melt. You think, 'I'm the worst parent ever. I can't get my baby to stop crying.'

You question everything. I've fed him. I've changed him. He just woke up. Maybe he just wants attention.

On What He Wants for His Child's Future

I want him to be well-educated. I want him to be happy and, of course, healthy, too. I don't want him to be bullied in school. . . . You hear of kids killing themselves because they're being bullied or whatever. I don't want that.

On What It Feels Like to Be a New Dad

I love the guy, even though I don't know him at all. He doesn't even recognize me, but I love him unconditionally. It's quite overwhelming, the feeling you get for him. There are times when I look at him and I think, I should have had a baby two years ago.

On Having More

We'll definitely have another. I think one more. Just enough to replace me and my wife. That's good enough. The world's overpopulated enough. And we want him to have a little buddy to hang out with.

Plus, I want to be a young dad. I want to have grandkids and great-grandkids and stuff.
